Now or never.
When the time comes to tell someone how you feel — do it.
When inspiration hits you out of the blue — grab it.
When an opportunity you’ve been looking for comes knocking — answer it.
When someone amazing comes along and changes how you dance to life — cherish it.
When a plane ticket to somewhere special goes on sale — buy it.
When passion becomes contagious —...
Things that make me go hmm...
Those who know me, know I’m a sucker for:
inspirational quotes (hence the #suckerforaquote tag on most of my Instagram shots) and travel writing.
There’s just something about these that makes me happy. Maybe it’s the “living-vicariously-through-the writer” part. Or yet, maybe even greater, it’s the power of knowing that the key to happiness, fun, adventure,...
Forward you will go.
Came across this little ditty today - worth sharing, worth preaching.
Power to the persistent.
“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.”

Breaking isn't bad.
A breather. A breath of fresh air. A break.
Whatever you call it, it”s okay to need one from time to time. Taking time out to recharge makes for better work, better, more relaxed thinking and generally (I believe) a more positive approach to work and life.
It’s like Sarah Jessica Parker says: “After all, computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. The best we can...
In awards we trust?
On the not-so-recent heels of the JWT India creative fiasco last week, I know I tread on a touchy subject with this post. The ever-ongoing debate in our industry about awards. Ahh, awards. You cant live with ‘em. You can’t live without ‘em (note: neither of those sentiments are true).
As participants in this industry (actively seeking metal or not), we constantly allow the...
WORD.
This weekend I had brunch with some of my gal pals in NYC and besides the obvious (catching up), I pleasantly rediscovered the amazing power of word of mouth advertising.
When one friend said she needed to get a “new pair of glasses” after brunch, Warber Parker was immediately reco’d by another. You could get a great pair of lenses - prescription and all - for under $95. After our eggs...

Shiny happy people.
“There are two types of people in the world: those who choose to be happy, and those who choose to be unhappy. Happy people are happy because they make themselves happy. They maintain a positive outlook on life and remain at peace with themselves.”
A few simple tips below to help you keep that outlook positive.

Take it one idea at a time...
“Life is very short. If you are not in this game to change the industry, to make world-changing work, to break with the past and get acquainted with our future, then it makes no sense to be in this industry. I’m passionately in love with it, and I intend to keep focusing on the future of where things are going.”
I love this quote from Ignacio Oreamuno, Executive Director of the Art...
An oldie, but a goodie.
It’s always a good time to remember the wise words of the late Steve Jobs.
Thanks for the inspiration, the encouragement and the reminder to always believe in yourself.
In case you didn't know.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the fabulous women I know!

Wanderlust
I’ve been feeling all agitated and jumpy lately. Been getting annoyed at a much quicker rate than usual. I think I’ve come down with what’s commonly diagnosed as Wanderlust. Yep, that’s right. I’ve currently struggling with a strong desire to travel.
It’s funny. I never used to like to travel much. I was (read: still am) terrified of flying, but as...
Seek Discomfort.
Those are some very whose words from Mr. Stefan Sagmeister. Ones, in fact, that I found so inspiring, I wrote down and now carry with me.
On the (not so) heels of my last post, I wanted to take a moment to express my public kudos to Stefan Sagmesiter. I finally had the chance to see his exhibit down at the Design Exchange this past weekend, and if it comes to a city near you, I definitely...

Be. Happy.
An excellent article full of small (common sense) reminders on how to live happy.

Happy weekend.
Today's thought:
It’s official, I have ADD. But I think it’s born from the fact I just love what I do. Jumping from one project to the next, from one thought to another. God, this business is awesome. And being creative and getting paid to do so is the best job in the world.
I’m ever so grateful.
Long weekends were made for:
* getting inspired again
* taking a breather
* rebooting and recharging
* working on your own projects
* sleeping in
* catching up on TV (hello, Sons of Anarchy)
* reading (trashy gossip mag’s included)
* catching up with friends and family
* planning your next vacation
* revisiting goals
* doing something active
* staying up way past your bedtime
….and, of course, brunch every...
Keep pushing. Always.
In my opinion, there’s nothing more frustrating than people who don’t understand, or care to understand, the impact of their role in this business. As agency folk, we’re truly blessed with awesome jobs. No two days are alike. We get to creatively solve big business problems, to encourage clients to push boundaries, to take chances and to show them that limits are limitless. “That’s...

BRB.
I’ve neglected the blogging the past few weeks. I know, shame on me. Been mad busy finishing up a few spots we shot in LA, including one for the Super Bowl. Stay tuned. It’s gonna be a good one. I’ll be back to exercising my opinion shortly. In the mean time, keep exercising yours.
Up and up.
One of the best Harvard Business Review articles I’ve read. A lesson for all women (and men for that matter). Time to be yourself, stand up for what you believe in, take a risk, ask questions, challenge the norm, it’s okay if it’s not the status quo. You’ll be a better person and employee for it. Use your time to believe in yourself - spend more time worrying about...
With a capital 'F'.
Remember, it only takes one person to change your life.
You.
Sucker for a quote.
Simple as that.
#2013 #makeitcount
Forever's gone away.
2012 taught me that not everyone is going to stay in your life forever. And that’s okay.
Because maybe they weren’t meant to. Maybe they were meant to come along, touch your life with their love and wisdom and then move along to spread it elsewhere.
I believe that no matter where we go, or what we do, we always carry with us a little piece of all the people that touched us along the way. At the...

It's a new dawn, it's a new day.
A new year is creeping upon us and in good tradition, I take this time to ponder the past year, expressing my gratitude for all that was.
For amazing career opportunities, I am thankful. For great new people that came into my life, I am thankful. For quality time spent with family, I am thankful. For a life full of love, laughter and health, I am thankful.
As I look ahead to 2013, (with...
Never just be.
Be fearless.
Be honest.
Be generous.
Be classy.
Be brave.
Be poetic.
Be open.
Be intelligent.
Be free.
Be yourself.
Be in love.
Be happy.
Be optimistic.
Be nothing short of fabulous.
Here, there, everywhere.
…”After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it’s comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you’re very lucky, a place ride away.”
See you soon, NY. xo
One of my favorite things.
Is a cold, winter Saturday spent in bed.
Because, sometimes the body needs a rest, and so does the mind.

Tomorrow.
I’m sure I’m one of very few people who openly admit this, but I truly love the month of December. Here’s to snowflakes, tobogganing, and sipping’ warm totties by the fire.
Never, ever.
“It’s the simple things in life, like when and where.”
This one's for mum & dad.
Okay, time for a little rant. Just a wee one, I promise.
As most of you know, I usually take to my blog as a chance to share inspiration and positive stories and words, but today I have to say, this one’s a big negative (with a positive twist, you’ll see).
I am so sick of Christmas ads that show mom doing everything - cooking, shopping, wrapping, entertaining, basically, anything...
T'is the season to give.
Donate? Volunteer? Sing carols at the Seniors Home? Buy a gift for an underprivileged kid? What will you do to give back this holiday season?
Listen. And you'll hear.
“I’m too old man.”
“And then Rasheed nails a three with five minutes left.”
“They’re ridiculous, four or five hundred dollars for leprechaun shoes.”
“Hmmm, this maple coffee is delicious in my mouth.”
“I’ve got some funny shots from the weekend. Shots! Lets do shots now”
“Why would you put my face playing dodge ball on Facebook?”
“We’re going to leave early today, okay?”
“I didn’t actually do it...

She bangs.
Did you know there are 15 ways to wear bangs?
That’s right. Bangs.
As in the hair that covers your forehead. The stuff that’s shorter than the rest of your ‘do.
The hair you style precisely every day and yet (no matter the amount of hairspray) doesn’t stay styled the same way ‘till night.
They can be blunt or overgrown. Square or wispy.
You can wear them long and feathered or split...
One moment in time.
The September Issue.
Not just the Fall fashion bible most ladies (and some men) look forward to all summer, but also, a great film about the fabulous Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour and Creative Director, Grace Coddington.
About half way through the documentary, Grace is sent to Paris on a photo shoot. And there’s a wonderful moment when she’s in the cab, on her way into the city, sitting, dreamily...
Dream. Live. Do it.
Love for the game.
Talent gets you invited to camp;
determination gets you on the team;
teamwork gets you on the field;
confidence gets you on the starting unit;
love for the game keeps you there.
Sweet sounds of the city.
Who needs an iPod?
I’ve recently discovered that sometimes the most beautiful music to walk home to is the sounds of your own city. Horns honking, people yelling, birds chirping, high heels smacking a sidewalk, tires squealing, trees and leaves blowing in the wind. If you listen really closely, it’s a symphony in the making.
Not in my dictionary.
Complacent. Com-pla-cent. /kem’plasent/ Definition: Showing smug or uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one’s achievements. “You are the master of your fate: you are the captain of your soul”.
Always thankful.
As Thanksgiving weekend winds down here in Canada, and I sit here bloated from the range of feasts I devoured, I realize I have so much to be thankful for. Here’s just a little nod to the things that make my life so wonderful, always:
- Amazing friends, both old and new.
- A wonderfully supportive family that’s there for me, no matter where in the world I live.
- A damn cool job in an...

The second group.
A wise friend once told me that dreams can be one of two things: for some, they are pictures in their imagination that get them through the days while providing a little happiness distraction. For those more determined, they are realities in the waiting.
Since then, I have always made certain that I take stand in the second group. Hope you all do, too.
Someone.
Sometimes, you meet someone so amazing, that they change the way you dance to life.
Steal my sunshine.
Oh, LA.
You’re just so full of interesting fashion, gabby characters, traffic and people who lunch.
I can’t help but think how many times I passed a table where the next big Hollywood blockbuster was being conceived. Over egg whites and lemon water, of course. To have been in the vicinity of such brilliant writers is one heck of an inspirational feeling.
This trip I realized that there’s...
As the song goes.
Kelly Clarkson said it (or rather, sang it) best:

I know what you’re going to say. I found the most cliché picture for the most cliché topic, but whatever. It’s the content really matters.
I love this blog entry from Sally Hogshead (see below).

Her ‘flea in a jar’ analogy certainly resonates. Let her words be a reminder. Whether you’re a ballerina, a businessman, a...
Say cheese. Eat cheese.
There comes a time in life, (or in my case, every week), when you just have to sit back, relax and say “fuck the diet, yo”. (I have a love/hate/makes-me-fat relationship with cheese, dammit).
Keep on keepin' on:
I’m so lucky to have so many friends in the creative field. Everywhere I turn, there’s another inspiration. And the coolest part is, I know all these people. Whether it’s a friends blogs, an art show, a gallery opening, a poetry reading, a super cool edited music video, a newly directed commercial or TV show; they all help keep me going. Especially after a long, hard day. I just immerse myself...

Follow your bliss.
I’m a sucker for an inspirational read.
You got a quote that talks about reaching for the stars? I’ve probably read it.
A Cinderella story that saw the underdog overcome huge feats? Yep, probably read that too.
We’re living in a day and age when people are quick to tell you you’re not good enough, or you lack what it takes. I’ve never much listened to those types...
As good as it gets.
“New York is an ugly city, a dirty city. Its climate is a scandal, its politics are used to frighten children, its traffic is madness, its competition is murderous. But there is one thing about it - once you have lived in New York and it has become your home, no place else is good enough.” ― Megan...
Plain & simple.
Missing something, someone or somewhere sucks.
This is just me, writing.
I was thinking today that I’m due for a post here, but didn’t necessarily have anything pressing to write about. So after a bit of thought, I decided I’m going to just write. Like, about anything. After all, that was the main goal of starting this blog to begin with. A place I could go to share my thoughts, opinions and practice my grammar (oh Lordy).
So here I am, just writing. About anything....
Dare to go after what you want.
I have forgiven mistakes that were indeed almost unforgivable.
I’ve tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable.
I’ve acted on impulse, have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible.
But I have also disappointed those who I love.
I have laughed at inappropriate occasions.
I’ve made friends that...
