All together now.
Fun new Bud spot from Gorgeous UK.
What’cha think? Perhaps argued to be purely executional. However, nicely done none the less.

Your knight in shining...pads?
Ladies, ever find yourself asking, “where did my stash of pads go?”. If so, have a look at this. And then show your boyfriend so he knows you know what he’s up to.
Funny, insightful spot form Clemenger BBDO, Sydney.

To mom, they'll always be kids.
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. No other way to describe it. Director Daniel Kleinman really captured the Olympic moment, and the kids in this spot from P&G and W&K, Portland.

How vacations affect your happiness.
Interesting, that within seconds of posting my latest entry, I stumble upon this write up from the NYTimes blog, entitled “How Vacations Affect Your Happiness”.
Coincidence, or is someone trying to tell me something? Cool read none the less, and perhaps some ammunition for the water cooler Monday morning.

The Sagmeister.
Huh. On a completely unrelated note, I wonder how many people actually call him “The Sagmeister?”
I’ve blogged about him before, and was lucky enough to hear him speak in person at the 2009 Boards Summit in NYC in October. Stefan Sagmeister - the design God is a creative mastermind; a genius.
He’s definitely on my “if I could have lunch with three people”,...
Welcome Home.
A lovely Olympic spot from JWT for Tim Horton’s. It’s a 90 second tear jerk-er entitled, “Welcome Home”. The spot follows a man as he prepares for his family’s arrival to Canada by stocking up on winter gear.
He welcomes his wife to Canada with a kiss, a hug, and a cup of Timmy’s java.
I’m a fan.

Talented asshole or sweetheart hack?
Thanks to Sally Hogshead, the debate has started. And it’s a good one at that.
Check out her article from AdAge.com today (below). It’s interesting to see the variety of opinions.
Personally, I firmly believe no matter how good you are, there’s now excuse for being an ass or treating people disrespectfully.
That’s why people like Israel Diaz, Heather Chambers, Zak...
Queen of insecurity.
I read today that Hollywood “hottie” Meghan Fox confessed she has insecurities. I know, I had to read it twice as well. I mean she’s one of the prettiest girls around and if she has insecurities, what does that mean for the rest of us?
It means we should have insecurities too. And there ain’t nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think it’s healthy to have...
Super work from a super agency.
Amazing new work from CP&B. The Supermodelquin Super search is on. Seriously, this is super work. So super, I can’t stop saying super. Super.

A Wieden tell-all.
Check out this great link where Dan Widen speaks on art, design, ideas, story telling, brands and making your communication.
It’s 5 minutes of time well spent.

Take some time to ponder...
and then shave the beard.
But first, you have to grow it.
Take a look at Y&R NY’s “ponder beard”, a campaign that works around the iconic symbol of the ponder beard and stroking it when in deep thought (or at least pretending to be).
Fun idea guys!

The September Issue.
If you haven’t seen it yet - do so. Even if you’re not fashionista (like me), it’s worth a view.
An awesome behind the scenes look into the world of Vogue, the production of it’s most important annual publication (also known as the Bible), the business of fashion and the woman in charge of it all - Anna Wintour.
I’m so mesmerized by her after seeing this film,...
I heart food.
Here’s a few places that are a must next time you’re in NYC.
If you’re looking for a place for after dinner drinks that’s definitely not touristy, and serves up unique fun cocktails, then try Little Branch. The bartenders are a delight and the attention paid to making and serving your drink is like any other. A bit of a wait, but well worth it. Unless you...
Knock knock. Who's there? It's me!
I have to admit, in case it wasn’t obvious, but I totally disregarded the blog whilst away - but with an extra long weekend in NYC can you blame me?
And what a weekend it was. Full of friends, good shopping, awesome food, and a few meet and greets at some agencies along the way.
I’ve decided that getting experience outside of Canada wouldn’t be a bad thing. In fact, I think...

Truth in advertising...
Is it time to Rethink guerilla advertising?
I hope not! I’m inspired by this kind of work. Well, most of the time. It is, however, time to definitely start considering the following simple strategies presented by Chris Staple and Rethink. Have a read for yourself and avoid any avoidable blunders (holy tongue twister) in the future: http://www.rethinkcommunications.com/rethink-news/opinion/
Smells like a man, man.
Here’s the new Old Spice spot from W&K Portland and Tom Kuntz. Side note: sorry about the image above - could only find the Amsterdam logo….
Anyways, I definitely dig the sense of humour injected in the writing. And it’s well cast too. All in all, this spot smells good to me. http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/tvfilm/877
Side note #2: Tom Kuntz, I want to work with you!
Which way to the beach?
Just ask Nokia.
What an amazing use of media. Such a captivating idea. Man, I wish I’d done this!

Time to tune in.
Alex Bogusky’s live Q&A segment rocks. If you haven’t yet seen it, what are you waiting for? Less perezhiltion and more fealess q&a during lunch people.
None the less, it’s a one-hour show about all things advertising, design, branding, etc where he usually features guests - staff, other great influential ad people, students, etc. Beyond learning something, it’s perfect for days...
Best of the....best?
No doubt there weren’t many spots worthy of discussion during last nights Superbowl frenzy. For the few that did make my radar - have a looksie.
By far, my favourite was the Google spot. Actually wish I’d done this one myself. Just goes to prove that even the smaller budgets (when done right) have a place on the Superbowl. Nicely done.

A'ints no more.
A little shout out to say congrats to the 2010 Superbowl Champ Saints.
Thanks for the awesome game guys.
Talk of the town. Err, I mean the Riviera.
Looks like there’s even more to debate at this years Cannes festival. Check out the latest award added to the festival this year and how it may, or may not affect some agencies eligibility.

The Superbowl commercial as we knew it?
It’s Friday.
Which means it’s the weekend. It also means less than 2 days till the Superbowl.
And while I’m a fan of the game and the Saints (by default) I’m much more excited to see what the recession did to the million dollar commercial as we knew it.
Stay tuned. Debrief, possible links and my opinion to come Monday.
Refresh the world.
With the Pepsi Refresh project.
Love the way this spot is executed even though I’m no dummy and know it’s clearly a rip-off from a recent music video. I posted the link to the music video I’m talking about a while back. I’s sure of it, because when I posted the video, I remembered thinking, “can’t wait to rip this execution off myself”.
Have a look at...
Taste the rainbow.
That is, of course, after you harvest it.

IQ. EQ. AQ.
There’s an interesting read on AdAge.com today that everyone should take a peak at. It highlights the guidelines for employment success in this rapidly changing business world we live in. Want to be more employable? Here’s a quick summary: 1. Have an EQ – also known as emotional intelligence. Important for many obvious reasons, but one that shouldn’t be over looked is the fact that we exist...
