Mom's rules for life
I came across this old email from my late mother and thought it’d be a good Friday share. Enjoy, and pass along.  My favorite is #11. Cassandra. Read my little rules for life below, maybe it will help you navigate this particular bend in the road. 1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk. 2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson. 3....

For serious
I have this habit of ripping my horoscope from the newspaper on days when it reads inspirationally. Last week was definitely one of those days: LIBRA sept 23-oct 23 “Do something positive with your talents, something that boosts your status and reminds the world that you are someone to be taken seriously”. Trust me horoscope, I’m trying.

Turn the World inside out
If you haven’t seen JR’s TedX talk wish, I suggest you click on the link below immediately and watch it. Talk about passion. Talk about inspiration. Talk about determination. What an incredible guy with a life story that’s even more fascinating. http://www.ted.com/talks/jr_s_ted_prize_wish_use_art_to_turn_the_world_inside_out.html At an early age JR set out to change the world around him by...

Just another rainy day
I love rainy days. Mostly when they happen on weekends though. Not that I like to waste my weekends inside, but there’s nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning, hearing the patter of the rain outside and knowing that you don’t have to feel guilty about snuggling under the covers for a few more hours. Friends re-runs anyone? I hate rain days when I have a dinner or cocktail...

Croatia Calls...
And the planning has begun. If you’ve got tips or must-see’s/do’s while in Dubronvik, Croatia or Barcelona, Spain, holler at your girl. I’m looking for a mix of great cultural stuff to do, amazing restaurants to try and fun nightlife hot spots.

1 note
The benefit of Benefit.
I have to say, BENEFIT is one awesome cosmetics line. Owned by twin sisters who first launched the line in San Francisco. Their mission: a new take on makeup; make it fun! And fun they did make it. The line has a great range of products for all your skin care and make up needs. Half the fun of buying Benefit products is browsing the shelves for items. They’re all beautifully designed and...

Reader's corner - part I.
A new years resolution of mine was to read a book a week. I figured with all the wasted time spent in front of the computer or TV I’d be able to blow this goal out of the water. And, for once, (so far) I was right. So, I thought I’d take a minute to spread the word on a few books worth mentioning/reading. “Decoded” If you’re a JayZ fan, a rap fan or a business...

Calling all brunchies.
I think I’m a bit behind on this discovery, but none the less, best brunch in town goes to Bubby’s in Tribeca. I’ve been dreaming about the meal I had there for the last few weeks and decided I really had to spread the word. So, if you’re in search of a quaint, fun atmosphere and a delicious meal at a reasonable price, check ‘er out. You’re guaranteed to...

Bottega Veneta - don't mind if I do!
I must say - the Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 line is stunning. If I had the body, and more so, the funds, I’d be dressed head to toe in the designers pieces every day. So until I win the lottery, one can only dream. And drool over pictures like this. (photo compliments of the Sartorialist - http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/) I’m in love.

I'm gaga for Gaga
Yep. You heard right. This anti-Gaga turned Gaga lover is giving total shout outs to the inspiring lady today.  The Monster Ball tour hits Toronto tonight and I wish all the little monster mounds of fun. Sing, dance and revel in the awesome, inspiring lyrics. Can’t wait to see the show she puts on and how many stars it gets in the papers tomorrow. I’m predicting a 41/2 out of...
